Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter to Use $100,000 Grant from Cities of Service to Tackle Neighborhood Revitalization and Literacy Challenges

In October, Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter was awarded a $100,000 award from the Cities of Service Impact Volunteering Fund. The city will use the grant funds to launch two new impact volunteering initiatives, which will focus on improving literacy and technology skills among adults and decreasing neighborhood blight through painting murals and coordinating ongoing community cleanup projects, all with the targeted work of volunteers.
