Resilience AmeriCorps

Anchorage experiences some of the highest energy costs in the nation, along with structural food insecurity. The high costs of living, energy, and housing are a source of chronic stress for residents. A lack of job training programs and employment opportunities adds to economic insecurities.

The Municipality of Anchorage will aim to tackle these problems through their participation in the Resilience AmeriCorps program. Some strategies may include promoting micro grid technology and energy efficiency, and increasing local food production with a goal to reduce financial burdens and monthly expenses for residents.
