Neighborhood Revitalization

Love Where You Live

Through Barnsley’s Love Where You Live initiative, local citizens help make their communities even better places to live. Love Where You Live inspires community members to think about where they live, to transform Barnsley neighborhoods, and to increase local pride, both now and in the future. Barnsley aims to improve their green and urban spaces and to maintain a clean, well-cared for environment in partnership with local people and businesses. Examples of projects include community clean-ups, the creation of community picnic areas and arts spaces, and the improvement of local parks and derelict spaces.

"The Love Where You Live program provides a fantastic opportunity for Barnsley to mobilize volunteers around local challenges and to reward people for the wonderful things they do in their communities. Cities of Service will support us to develop a campaign to grow social action and a culture of active citizenship and service."
Barnsley Cities of Service Ambassador Councillor Sir Steve Houghton

Let's Grow also leverages a training program to provide residents with food and growing skills and supports the development of Growing Champions who lead the effort in each community.
