Daly City, CA

Daly City has been a member of the Cities of Service coalition since April 2016. In February 2017, Mayor Sylvester signed the Declaration of Service and committed to implementing impact volunteering initiatives. Under the mayor’s leadership and the project team’s hard work, Daly City is leveraging volunteers to make a real impact in improving resilience. Daly City is one of five cities to take part in the Bay Area Impact Volunteering Program and one of seven cities to take part in the Prepared Together Program.

Project Green Space

Project Green Space will engage community volunteers to plant drought-tolerant tree species and replace impervious surfaces with rain gardens. Increasing the number of trees in the city will help keep water out of storm drains, which will lead to less flooding and decrease coastal erosion.
